I have a very liberal friending policy. Friend me and comment here and I'll add you to my list as soon as possible.

I'm a huge geek and I'm not afraid to admit it. My journal contains all the various squees and rants that fannish folk tend to have.

Remember all the talk about Tim Burton's crazy Superman movie with the Kevin Smith script (giant spiders and polar bears!) and the electric suit? Well if you've ever wanted to see what that crazy suit would look like, here's your chance.

Can fic have product placement?

First sentence from the second chapter of a fic:

Character Who Shall Remain Nameless purchased her theater tickets for “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” on Fandango.com and then called a taxi.

My friend Charles is famous!

Proof!

I met Charles when I was living in Las Vegas. He worked at my comic book store, Comic Oasis. And whenever he would be doing sketches in the store I would try to surprise him with odd requests. The most challenging ones was Superboy with his leather jacket and fade haircut. When I moved he gave some wonderful prints of his work. I also have two Munny's (a Spider-Man and a Mary Jane) that he painted for me at the request of my husband.

So go and check out his work. He totally deserves the attention he's getting right now. :)

I got my anniversary present in the mail yesterday. Since the tenth anniversary is traditionally tin, Dave got me a Nook! He reasons that there might be some tin inside it. He also thought it was a good idea so I could keep up with my reading after the baby is born without having to go to the bookstore.

*hugs my hubby*

Spent a wonderful 4th of July weekend with my Mom and Aunt. Since I've been home alone so much lately (Dave was only home about 3 weeks in the past 3 months) I had almost forgotten how nice it is to have other people around the house. It was nice that there was someone else around to cook and to talk to.

One of the nicest parts was that my Aunt Lisa brought her sewing machine and finished sewing all the various baby projects she was making for me. So now I'm the proud owner of 8 burp cloths, 2 swaddling blankets, and an adorable baby quilt. They are all the most wonderful things I have ever seen in my life and the fact that they were all handmade for me and the baby makes that them that much more precious.

I went to Target today after they left to go back home and picked up a few of the last things I need before my bundle of joy shows up. The highchair I wanted was on clearance so that went into the cart along with a baby monitor, a Diaper Genie, and some other odds and ends. Then it was a quick stop at the grocery store for some chocolate milk because it is oh so delicious!

I need to run the vacuum around the house sometime soon since Steve will be here on Friday to drop off Bunny for her 6 month stay and he's allergic to cats and the hot weather has caused Fry to shed like there's no tomorrow.

In EW this week they had a poll where people voted on what they thought Joss Whedon's best creation was and the majority of people said Dollhouse over everything else. That just seemed very weird to me. Do you think it was because Dollhouse is newer or do most folks really think it's the superior project? Thoughts, ideas?

I almost can't believe this is going to be a real TV show. I keep thinking it's either a really late or really early April Fools joke.

NFL to launch animated children's series on Nickelodeon

"The series, "Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core," will follow 10-year-old character Ishmael as he attempts to save humanity when he learns the 32 NFL stadiums hold a benevolent life force that is under attack."

*dies giggling*

But I'll totally watch because my Eli is going to provide a voice. And I'm pathetic that way.

Dear Author,

I would love to read your stories but you have your journal set up so it displays text in a grayish-purplish color on a a background with a light gray pattern. I know I can use the "my style" add-on but I feel I shouldn't have to do that in order to read something that you're posting for people to read. But maybe it's just me and my cranky self.

Either way,

Me

Ack! This reply to a comment from Fark about the SyFy movie Dinoroc vs Supergator just killed me. KILLED ME DEAD!

- Dinocroc would kick Supergator's a$$ in 5 seconds flat.

-- plleeeeassse, supergator has super strength, superspeed, can fly, heat ray vision and freeze breathe, dino croc would put up a good fight but in the end supergator could just fly around the earth fast enough to go back in time and kill dinocrocs parents.
